In this episode of Journey with the Birds, Sheikh Efendi sends Dervish Sami and Suleyman to see a friend of Allah. This friend of Allah, named Abu Ali, is a scholar that everyone, including the Sultan, sees at least once a year and receives his advice. Dervishes have interesting dreams about Abu Ali in a lodge where they stay during the journey. They were very curious about him. When they reach Abu Ali, Abu Ali tells them his story.

We find out that he’s a former sinner. When the dervishes return to the dervish lodge with the greetings of Abu Ali, they learn from Sheikh Efendi that Abu Ali is dead. Meanwhile, the traveler received the medicine from Doctor Serafettin to heal Sheikh Efendi. The doctor advises the traveler that he should take the medicine in its entirety, and that if even a single drop of the medicine is taken, the medicine will not work.
