I don’t usually involve myself much because there’s no entry for me into the game! However, what happened after the ANKARAGUCU-RIZESPOR match pushed me into the spotlight! Let’s chase after the ball a bit today…

Stadiums are where those who get lost in big cities, lose their identity, are unhappy at home, work, or on the streets, those who lack hope, can’t form families, can’t pursue their goals in life, and are generally disrespected gather… It’s a place where people who lack something in their lives come together.

It’s the place where those who cannot exist with their own identity stand shoulder to shoulder with someone they’ve never known in the stands, singing songs and anthems, holding onto life and cursing the footballer they hate for earning millions of euros a year! It’s the place where in reality, those who cannot become the person they truly want to be in big cities call victories “triumph” locations. It’s a state of knowing that one can’t cope with life’s challenges and won’t be able to reach their goals! It’s a shelter.

It’s where, while living on a low income and being crushed under that burden, there’s an effort to hide behind the GOAL scored by a footballer earning millions of Euros and avoid seeing the REAL life… It’s the green field where the ability not to be seen amidst the crowd is gained by wearing a JERSEY and missing out on one’s own existence, scope, colors, dreams! It’s the place where even those with money, assets, and properties take a 90-minute break from the burden on their shoulders by screaming in the stands… It’s the space where, amid the normal flow of life, they would take a picture with a footballer and boast when encountered outside, and they hide among thousands while attacking that footballer with bad words.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-8052133319358801" data-ad-slot="5999284211" data-ad-format="auto" data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

Football contains many terms like striker, throw-in, defender, penalty forward, free-kick, goal average, offside, marking, hat-trick, fixture, foul, dribbling, average, own goal, assist, most of which are derived from English. It’s natural. Referees, who endure beatings, face attacks, hear the most curses, whose families are reachable by everyone, have an Arabic origin. They are the ones chosen and agreed upon by the parties to resolve disputes on the field, they are the judges. They have more… Referees are individuals knowledgeable in specific subjects, empowered to choose and make decisions, and impartially manage matches and competitions in accordance with the rules.

Football is a game, an industry, an illusion that took its name from Arabic and was invented by the English. However, in Turkiye, it’s on a completely different frequency. Our football quality is at its lowest, and no one wants to see it. Ordinary European teams come, disturb us, and leave, yet no one takes steps to solve the real problem. International success is a matter of chance, and no one questions the system. While Germany produces numerous global-scale players from a population of 3-4 million, why can’t we extract productivity from our 85 million, why isn’t this discussed? Supporters consider stadiums as places where they find themselves in life and express themselves, filling these places up.

Administrators take charge of this crowd and engage in business development efforts in social life and in Ankara. Everyone who’s outside the realm of football has been managing football clubs, or more accurately, communities, for years. Despite no chances of success, this flow continues. Those who meticulously count every penny in their own affairs generously spend millions of euros of clubs’, or rather communities’, funds. They throw it away since there’s no one to question or hold them accountable!

No one wants to define and solve the problem. Hence, teams are drowning in debt. They have no chance to move forward without the government’s help. There’s nothing left. Taking roles in football, running to the forefront, brings benefits! The money circulating in the football industry is far larger than what Turkish football deserves. We were just a bit above Arab leagues. Soon, they’d surpass us too. No one cared about these things. Those governing football had no slightest connection to football. I won’t even ask about their knowledge…

The first button was always wrong. Yet, there were numerous systems that could be examples. We didn’t take any of them. We preferred to maintain our chaos. Thus, football lost while everyone else won! Look! HALIL UMUT MELER, who was attacked and narrowly escaped death, refereed three matches in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE this year. He earned 7,000 euros per match, totaling 21,000 euros. In the Super League, he officiated 8 matches, earning 20,000 liras per match, totaling 160,000 liras. And he had a monthly salary of 26,000 TL…

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-8052133319358801" data-ad-slot="5999284211" data-ad-format="auto" data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

Referees, trampled upon like carpets by crowds filling stadiums, were earning this. So, what were the PRESIDENTS and administrators, the ones leading and ruining the clubs, doing? For instance, this year, Galatasaray spent 30 million EUROS, Fenerbahce 57 million EUROS, Besiktas 17 million EUROS, Trabzonspor 15 million EUROS on transfers. This is separate from the salaries of the signed players! So, 4 billion TL was spent, yet there was no actual success! Those who had no chance of reaching success needed a target! The target to be chosen would cover the management’s sins and remain defenseless! So that it would be easy to attack!

To stop the masses, they would target the weakest link. It was strategically correct, yet morally wrong. Those who saw their interests beyond the clubs, using the uniforms as shields to deal with their own affairs, were throwing referees, who earn 26,000 TL monthly and have no one to protect them, into the middle of the field. “You achieved success in Europe, but were you obstructed by TURKISH REFEREES here? Did they hinder you? Were you blocked?” These questions were never asked.

Sure, there were good people and good moves within football. Of course… But it wasn’t enough. Coaches, presidents, managers, egos in the stands, masseurs, assistant coaches on the bench, the millions on screens, the supporters at home and abroad, all targeted one person! THE REFEREE! Naturally, they stepped onto the field with trembling legs. Mistakes were inevitable…

Besiktas was in debt of 7.05 billion, Fenerbahce 8.63 billion, Galatasaray 9.6 billion, Trabzonspor 4.7 billion. There was a total loss of 30 billion lira! Did Halil Umut Meler do all this? Everyone knew the answer. They didn’t have politics, economics, or media behind them. They were alone! They had no one. In the arena, spears were thrown at bulls, and curses would rained down on the REFEREES in stadiums. Until yesterday. Now violence is showing itself… Everyone was blaming the weakest link. The easiest way out was chosen again. Let a mind step in, bring FOREIGN REFEREES for 3 weeks. It’s free to try…

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-8052133319358801" data-ad-slot="5999284211" data-ad-format="auto" data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

SEE HOW THEY FIRE THEM… After the match, the foreigner will not be here. They don’t understand your language. They’re not affected. When things go wrong, the TARGET becomes the PRESIDENTS and ADMINISTRATORS. In the next move, it’s the footballers… They are the real winners of the system… Turkish football is looking for a referee it can easily beat! 26,000 TL per month… None of them want this picture to change. If change begins, it won’t be good for them. Ironically, the supporters who keep the system alive don’t consider this equation…

Is there any ADMINISTRATOR in Europe whom they consult for knowledge, work method, or success? NO! So, do we have any footballers going to major European clubs? Apart from ARDA, NO! Yet, from among a handful of referees, Halil Umut Meler, Arda Kardesler, Abdulkadir Bitigen, Yasar Kemal Ugurlu, Atilla Karaoglan were going to Europe this year! While those earning and distributing millions couldn’t cross the border, those earning 26,000 TL were managing the matches worth hundreds of millions of DOLLARS! They were applauded on the way out and they came back without being beaten! Then ANKARA showed its power. (The team’s name is Ankaragucu which means Ankara’s Power in Turkish)

Follow us on Facebook

READ ALL ARTICLES

13.12.2023

Upsetting Scene I know as much about football as anyone who writes, draws, talks about it.
