He told me about today\u2019s world and what it might be like in the future. The Russian-Ukrainian War, the pandemic, the rising prices, the regional tensions, the tension inside\u2026 I think we&#8217;re overlooking the real player because of these. The other day, US President Biden did perhaps his most important act since taking office. United States President Joe Biden signed the \u201cChip and Science Act\u201d, which announced that the government will proivde $52.7 billion to increase the production of domestic semiconductor products. \u201cThe future of the chip industry is in America,\u201d Mr Biden said at the ceremony. He also mentioned that \u201conce-in-a generation investment opportunity.\u201d The CEOs of Micron, Intel, Lockheed Martin, HP and Advanced Micro Devices, as well as numerous political figures, were also there. Recently, we&#8217;ve been witnessing what&#8217;s going on in the US-Taiwan-China triangle. But we need to look at this tension through the chip&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Some of you might remember. I was constantly writing about it&#8230; Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, also known as TSMC&#8230; This company was founded in 1987. After a while, it became a world giant. That&#8217;s the first name that comes to mind when it comes to global players. Large companies such as APPLEQUALCOMM- NVIDIAADVANCED MICRO DEVICES-MEDIA TEK-MARVEL TECHNOLOGY GROUPSTMICROELECTRONICS- BROADCOM are their customers. CHIP planes are completely in our life as well as armed unmanned aerial vehicles, refrigerators, automobiles, ovens, heart devices, computers, smartphones&#8230; They are the commanders we don&#8217;t see, we don&#8217;t know, we don&#8217;t notice!<\/p>\n<p>They are the mastermind. If you provide everything for a product, but its chip doesn&#8217;t belong to you, it means that you don&#8217;t have much control over that product. You can&#8217;t lift an airplane, you can&#8217;t even cook in an oven&#8230; The founder of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) was a special person&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8052133319358801\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8052133319358801\" data-ad-slot=\"8997190170\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>MORRIS CHANG&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>He grew up in Hong Kong. He went to the U.S., to HARVARD. After a year there, he moved to MIT, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, for mechanical engineering. He also completed his PhD at Stanford. He got a job at Sylvania Semiconductor. Then he joined the rapidly rising Texas Instruments. He worked for many important US companies. Then he returned to his country. He founded the GIANT Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. In other words, the USA was actually behind the company, which is the biggest player globally. The company&#8217;s most important client was US companies. More than half of what they produced was taken by the United States. China and the European Union were very weak on this issue. Although exaggerated, China can only produce 6-7 percent of the chips they need. The EU was even weaker. With the GLOBAL STRUGGLE going on and guns, ships, missiles, submarines coming up, it was the chip that was really in control&#8230; We missed it!<\/p>\n<p>Not everyone has the chip. 6 of the top 10 manufacturers are from the USA. The rest have a great and deep relationship with the United States. According to important reports published, China needs to invest at least 3 trillion dollars to reach these levels. I wrote that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company would go to the USA and establish a large production facility there. Intel was a big player and it was waiting for its Taiwanese friend&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8052133319358801\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8052133319358801\" data-ad-slot=\"8997190170\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>There were even Americans who said that the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company should be destroyed in a possible Chinese attack. Because Taiwan means chip. Approximately %75 of chip production capacity is concentrated in East Asia, a region significantly exposed to high geopolitical tensions. This gives an important clue to understand tension. For that reason, it is not easy to cause trouble in Taiwan. In such a case, this company will be destroyed instantly and thus, they will prevent it from falling into the hands of China.<\/p>\n<p>Although this issue is not mentioned much, Taiwan produces 53 out of every 100 chips in the world. Effective enough to end the Chinese economy. As my friend from Stanford emphasized, &#8220;The bigger your chip, the bigger you are&#8221;. FOXCONN, for example, was one of the multinational giant companies headquartered in Taiwan and present in China. For example, APPLE is connected to that&#8230; Chip, which is small sized but a great player, has the power to change everything.<\/p>\n<p>Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, who visited Taiwan at the beginning of this month and whose visit made a lot of noise told Taiwan that &#8220;We will never leave you alone. Today, America&#8217;s solidarity with Taiwan is more important than ever.
