This series is based on the work of Feridüddin Atar’s “Mantıku’t Tayr“.

In this episode of Journey with the Birds, the traveler’s story is told. The traveler Adem had stayed in the lodge long enough, and he thought it was time to leave. He says goodbye to the dervishes and the Sheikh in order to be on the road. Because he should not wait any longer to find the water of life. As the traveler does not know the roads, he asks the Sheikh for one of his dervishes to accompany him to the entrance of the city, while leaving the dervish lodge.

Sheikh Efendi sends Dervish Sami with the traveler. They set off. On the way, ants invade their bags and their food rots. They think about eating the fresh parts. After traveling for a while, they realize that they forgot their food by the creek where they were resting. While returning to the place they forgot, the traveler and the dervish lose each other. The traveler barely finds the edge of the stream. The bag is in place. But the strange thing is that all the food is fresh.
